House’s return is a boon for the Aggies, who went 21-12 (11-7 SEC) in head coach Billy Kennedy’s fourth campaign with the team and were one of many squads that just could not catch the Kentucky Wildcats, though they did force double overtime against them on January 10.
In the 70-64 defeat, House led Texas A&M with 25 points and also grabbed nine rebounds.
House also led the Aggies in scoring in 2014, posting 14.8 points per game and shooting 42 percent from the field. His return is bound to provide leadership in the Aggies’ locker room as the team looks to make the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2011, when current Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon manned the sidelines.
Having incoming five-star freshman Tyler Davis on the court should help further improve the team, as should four-star recruits Elijah Thomas and D.J. Hogg.
The bottom line is that combined with House’s return and the incoming talent thanks to Coach Kennedy’s recruiting, Texas A&M is now in a position to better compete in an SEC that is slowly becoming one of the toughest conferences in college hoops.
It may not seem like it right now, but House’s return makes this program one to watch as fans and analysts alike get ready for the 2015-2016 season.
