College lacrosse team wins 100th straight game

You may not have heard of Onondaga Community College before, but the upstate New York school has been a dominant force in collegiate lacrosse.

In fact, after a 26-0 shellacking of Rochester over the weekend, the Onondaga Community College lacrosse team has extended its current winning streak to a remarkable 100 games.

You read that correctly. Onondaga CC has won 100 straight games. The winning streak dates back to March 27, 2010.

During the winning streak, the Onondaga Community College  Lazers have won by an average score of 25-4.

“We’ve had an awful lot of talent,” coach Chuck Wilbur recently said, via FOX Sports. “But we’ve had an awful lot of luck, too. A lot of people see the scores, the big scores. But there have been a lot of close games where we’ve won by just a few goals.”

Since their last loss, the Lazers have gone on to win five-straight National Junior College Athletic Association championships in the sport.

The 100 consecutive wins is a record in the National Junior College Athletic Association, with the previous record being held by the Herkimer County Community College men’s soccer team with 98 straight wins.
