Miami Hurricanes running back Duke Johnson is very confident that he would be a good fit in the Dallas Cowboys offensive scheme, citing similarities to MIA

Duke Johnson: I can run Cowboys scheme in my sleep

Confidence is crucial for a professional athlete and it is safe to say that former Miami Hurricanes running back Duke Johnson is not lacking in that department.

During an appearance on NFL Network’s “NFL AM,” Johnson picked the Dallas Cowboys as the team that best fits his style.

Johnson, who is the leading rusher in Miami history, says that the Cowboys system is what he ran in college, so he feels he could run the Dallas scheme in his sleep.

“In college, we ran the same outside zone scheme,” said Johnson, via NFL.com. “I can run it, basically, in my sleep.

“That system fits me well.”

The Dallas Cowboys are in need of a running back after allowing DeMarco Murray to leave during free agency, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for Johnson to receive a phone call from Jerry Jones on draft day.

Duke Johnson is one of the second-tier running backs available in the 2015 NFL Draft class, so he could be available for Dallas in Round 2 at the end of Day 1.
