It’s almost a rarity to see a talented senior roaming the courts at Kentucky, but that’s exactly what John Calipari’s team will feature come November.
After flirting with NBA opportunities, Alex Poythress confirmed on Twitter that he will returning to school for his senior season.
Ready to be apart of something special next year! #BBN

Poythress averaged only 5.5 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 0.3 assists last season, before tearing his ACL during a December practice.
The Clarksville, TN native averaged 5.9 points per game during his sophomore season and a career high 11.2 per game in his first season on campus.
Poythress will be the heart and soul of this Wildcats team even with another dominate recruiting class of Skal Labissiere, Isaiah Briscoe and Charles Matthews entering Lexington. His experience, leadership and defensive energy will be much needed with seven players, including the Karl Anthony-Towns, the Harrison Twins and Willie Cauley-Stein, moving onto the pro ranks.
Kentucky still has multiple offers out to multiple talented ESPN top 100 recruits, but regardless the Wildcats are yet again going to be a top ten squad when the preseason polls are released.
