The Michigan State Spartans are the latest college football team to unveil alternate uniforms for the 2015 season. And, wow, they are certainly unique.
The look — which is sure to generate various opinions — is “inspired by bronze Spartan shields and the phalanx battle formation,” according to Nike p.r. director Heidi Burgett.
Outside of the numbers, the Michigan State alternate jerseys are green, gold and black.
It is a different look than we are used to seeing from the Spartans, but they actually aren’t as hideous as some alternate uniforms we have seen in the past.
You can check out the new look below.
Good work, Nike.
There is no word on when Michigan State will suit up in their alternate uniforms during the season, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them bust out the unis during one of their primetime games. Perhaps against the kings of wild uniforms, the Oregon Ducks.
