FGCU ‘Dunk City’ is back for The Basketball Tournament

Remember the ‘Dunk City’ Florida Gulf Coast Eagles squad that knocked off Georgetown and San Diego State in the NCAA Tournament with their breath taking dunks and superb toughness under Andy Enfield?

The team of Sherwood Brown, Eric McKnight, Chase Fieler and Bernard Thompson are reuniting in July as they are participating in a 97-team, single elimination tournament (that continues to grow in talent) called The Basketball Tournament.

Now in it’s second year, The Basketball Tournament consists of high-level former college basketball talents that are looking to compete for a $1 million prize in four regional locations, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta, leading up to the Final Four.

The Final Four will be broadcasted on ESPN on August 1st and 2nd.

Some names that will be featured in this tournament in addition to the Eagles’ team include, Wisconsin’s Josh Gasser, Notre Dame’s Tim Abromaitis, Syracuse’s Hakim Warrick, Kansas’ Josh Selby, Indiana’s Will Sheehey, Xavier’s Matt Stainbrook and Georgetown’s Chris Wright.
