Faith Haith has had a strong impact on Tulsa Hurricanes basketball (22-10 record last season) from day one and he continued to make his presence felt on Saturday afternoon.
The Hurricanes landed 6’7″ Rutgers transfer Junior Etou, who will sit out next season before having two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Etou averaged 5.3 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and put up a double-double against Ohio State (12 points and 11 boards) late in the Big Ten season.
With Tulsa losing four front court players after this upcoming season, Etou is expected to step on the court in 2016 and make an immediate impact.
The forward is a bit undersized but should bring some versatility and experience to a Hurricanes team that will be filled with young players. Etou also played against top competition in the Big Ten and that could pay off when transferring over to an AAC school (where UConn and SMU will be dangerous).
Haith and Tulsa will also lose guards Shaquille Harrison and James Woodard to graduation after the 2015-16 season.
