That certainly isn’t the way you want to kickoff draft week.
Ray was a dominant force along the Missouri defensive front during his junior campaign which was capped off with a first-team All-SEC team nod, a unanimous selection to the first-team All-American squad and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year award.
The 6-foot 3-inch, 245-pound Ray also recently had to deal with a toe injury, but received good news when he learned the injury would simply require time to heal and he would avoid surgery.
Now, it will be interesting to see how the latest setback for Shane Ray impacts his draft stock.
Despite the citation, Ray is still a very likely Day 1 selection.
The 2015 NFL Draft will be held from Thursday, April 30 through Saturday, May 2 at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago, Illinois.
