Cam Newton Still Wears Hospital Bracelet

As a professional athlete, success comes from persistence, determination, and learning from past experiences. Carolina Panther’s star quarterback, Cam Newton, is doing just that.

However, he’s not only focused on improving on the gridiron. Newton is also finding success in the joys of life.

December 9, 2014, Newton was T-boned by a sedan on a highway overpass, flipping his truck 3 times before coming to a halt. Carried into an ambulance in a stretcher, no one was quit sure how serious his injuries were.

As reports funneled in, we learned Newton had suffered two fractures in his lower back, but was responsive and going to be okay.

After being released from the hospital the next day, Cam continued to recover. His resilience was shown 2 Sundays later when he returned to play and led his team to victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Now late into April and months past the incident, Cam continues to wear his hospital bracelet as a reminder that life is short and to take advantage of the small things that make life so meaningful.

While this certainly means a great deal to Cam, let it also serve as a reminder to the rest of us that life is a precious gift that should not be taken for granted. Thanks Cam.
