Draft Day is finally here and there are still plenty of questions that need to be answered. Where will Marcus Mariota land? How far will Randy Gregory and La’el Collins fall? Who will be the first running back off the board: Todd Gurley or Melvin Gordon?
Well, we are hours away from learning those answers, but perhaps another question should be: ‘just how high can Gurley and Gordon go?’
Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel released his final mock draft last night and there was a very interesting comment made when he made the selection for the New York Giants.
McGinn had the Giants taking Iowa offensive lineman Brandon Scherff, but he added “RB Melvin Gordon is a very real possibility, too.”
Interesting.
This is one of the first times Gordon has been linked to the Giants and one of the first times Gordon has been mentioned in the top ten discussion. But could it be possible?
There is no denying Gordon is a great rusher and he has fewer injury concerns than Gurley, so it wouldn’t be completely out of the question.
However, with the way the latest buzz has been, it seems like Todd Gurley would be the running back to go in the top ten if one of the players ultimately does.
We will just have to wait and see, before we can finally get our answers.
