Cactus Bowl to be played at Chase Field next three years

The Cactus Bowl will have a new home for the next three years.

According to a report from ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, the game will be played at Chase Field, the home of MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks. The game had been hosted at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona since 2006.

This season, Sun Devil Stadium will play host to the Fiesta Bowl and College Football Playoff National Championship.

With the move, the Cactus Bowl now becomes the fourth bowl game that will take place at a big league ballpark. The others are the Pinstripe Bowl (Yankee Stadium), St. Pete Bowl (Tropicana Field, Tampa Bay Rays) and Miami Beach Bowl (Marlins Park, Miami Marlins).

The Cactus Bowl matches up a team from the Big 12 against a team from the Pac-12.
