Xavier’s Matt Stainbrook to join track and field team

Xavier Musketeers center Matt Stainbrook took the Internet by storm during the 2015 NCAA Tournament. With his signature glasses and added Uber charm, no one could get enough of the big man.

Now, they will have another opportunity to watch Stainbrook competing in athletics.

In a report from the Cincinnati Enquirer, it was revealed that the 6-foot-10 basketball player will be joining the university’s track and field team.

“I like to do different things. I’m a Renaissance man,” Stainbrook said. “Especially because it keeps me in shape, keeps me busy.”

According to the report, Stainbrook “will be among the 40 Xavier athletes competing in the weekend’s Big East Track & Field Outdoor Championship at Villanova” even though he has neither participated in a field event before.

Stainbrook will participate in the discus and shot put.
