Brian Kelly comments on Everett Golson transfer

On Thursday morning, quarterback Everett Golson announced that he will be transferring from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program.

As a graduate transfer, Golson will be eligible to play immediately in 2015.

There will likely be plenty of options for Golson, so it will be interesting to keep an eye on the rumor mill until he ultimately chooses where to sign.

After learning of the departure of his quarterback, head coach Brian Kelly issued a statement.

With Golson no longer on the roster, Malik Zaire is the clear-cut starting quarterback and leader of the Fighting Irish offense. Zaire and Notre Dame will kick off the 2015 college football season on Sept. 5 in a meeting with the Texas Longhorns.
