Rising through the ranks of the amateur sports world with the name Michael Jordan certainly requires a level of gravitas.
Urban Meyer’s latest signee, offensive tackle Michael Jordan of Canton Michigan, has shown he can handle bearing the burden of the most legendary name in sports after an exceptional prep career.
Jordan will head to campus with a slew of stellar recruits which is not a surprise considering the historic success the Buckeyes enjoyed last season.
The addition of Jordan only adds to an incredibly deep offensive line for Meyer, meaning Jordan certainly has his work cut out for him to find a spot on the starting line.
While the four star recruit’s name is attracting the attention of most sports fans, his home town might be of more interest to those in Ann Arbor. Having drawn yet another Michigan native away from his home state, Urban Meyer has added more fuel to the fire that is he and Jim Harbaugh’s midwestern recruiting battle.
And even though college football games are won in the fall, this is an early victory for Meyer and Buckeye nation.
