There have been multiple former NCAA basketball talents that have received a chance to maintain an athletic career in the NFL.
While Richard Ross works out for the Vikings, Erik Swoope maintains his job with the Colts and Ross Travis works hard to find his niche, former Canisius forward Chris Manhertz is working out for the Buffalo Bills.
Manhertz, a 6-foot-6 player from the Bronx, is working out at tight end as the Bills look for more depth and weapons for Matt Cassel (and the rest of the quarterback crew). He is unlikely to make the roster though as Charles Clay, Chris Gragg and Nick O’Leary loom in front of him on the depth chart.
The former Canisius forward averaged 8.4 points per game and 6.9 rebounds during the 2013-14 season. He played four total seasons with the program and led the team in rebounding the last three years.
