Illinois State suspends Marshaun Coprich following drug arrest

The Illinois State football program has announced that running back Marshaun Coprich has been suspended indefinitely. Last week, Coprich was arrested on drug charges.

“Marshaun has been suspended, effective immediately,” Spack said in a statement.  “Though we are disappointed that he is in this situation, we will let the process continue before a final decision is made.”

According to reports, Coprich was arrested for unlawful delivery of marijuana after trying to sell weed to an undercover agent with Illinois State Police Task Force Six on April 16.

Last season, Coprich was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Year and named first-team All-MVFC.
