W. Kentucky leading rusher charged with public intoxication

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers running back Leon Allen was arrested on Sunday morning for public intoxication, according to the Bowling Green Daily News

Allen was booked at at 4:40 a.m. ET and was released later in the morning.

He was officially charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Allen is the Hilltoppers’ leading rusher and racked up 1,542 yards in 2014 with 13 touchdowns. Anthony Wales was next on the team with 518 yards and five touchdowns.

Western Kentucky released a statement following Allen’s arrest saying they are aware of the situation and monitoring it. The matter will reportedly be handled internally.
