As soon as it was announced that quarterback Everett Golson would be transferring from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Florida State Seminoles were named as the favorites to land the signal-caller.
On Tuesday, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed that the two sides have met.
Then, Fisher provided some interesting commentary, when he said that Golson and the Seminoles were “negotiating” during the visit. Obviously, there were those who instantly thought Fisher was discussing money, but it’s unlikely that he would so blatantly admit to a NCAA rules violation.
“We’re negotiating, we’re talking right now,” Fisher told ESPN. “We’re going through things. Staying in contact with him.”
Regardless, it is clear that the Seminoles have a real shot at landing the former Fighting Irish signal-caller. If he joins the Seminoles, Golson will bring some valuable experience as he pushes Sean Maguire for the starting job.
