After a successful NFL career and four seasons as a head coach in San Francisco, Jim Harbaugh returned to his alma mater this spring to become the new head coach of the Michigan Wolverines.
Harbaugh takes over the winningest program in college football but also a program that has not won a conference championship in 12 years and hasn’t won a bowl game since 2011.
The 51-year-old will look to overcome those odds and win a National Championship for Michigan for the first time in 17 seasons. First, he’ll take the opportunity to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Harbaugh’s coaching style wore out his time with the 49ers, but his child-like coaching style, experience and high football IQ will certainly hit home with families and top recruits making him a perfect fit for the college game.
