Kentucky Heavily Pursuing 5-Star Big Man Caleb Swanigan

Five-star recruit Caleb Swanigan de-committed from Michigan State last week, and now it appears another elite program is hoping to land him.

According to Lindsay Brauner of, Wildcats head coach John Calipari and his staff are pushing hard to sign Swanigan, who must sign a letter of intent by May 20, but Swanigan is more interested in other programs.

The McDonald’s All-American from Fort Wayne, Indiana is currently the No. 9 player in the ESPN Hot 100 and has great low post size at 6’8″, 275 pounds. His playing style and overall skill set aren’t ideal for Calipari’s dribble-drive offense, so he is more likely to commit to a program like California or Purdue.

Campus Sports will update Swanigan’s decision as more details become available.
