Let’s be honest, we’ve all had an alcoholic beverage or two prior to or 21st birthday. However the situation becomes a little different when you’re the potential starting quarterback for a top tier college football team.
Boise State quarterback, Ryan Finley was cited for possession of an alcoholic beverage as a minor last month. In addition, the potential starter for Bryan Harsin’s Broncos is also being charged with resisting or obstructing officers. Both charges are only misdemeanor offenses, but might ultimately affect his time on the field as the university is waiting for the legal proceedings to finish before addressing the issue.
The 6-foot-4 redshirt sophomore hasn’t seen the field much yet having only attempted 27 passes in his career. However Finley found himself second on the depth chart last season to redshirt senior Grant Hedrick and seemed set to take over the starting job..
Finley has plead not guilty to both misdemeanor charges and is due in court sometime next month.
