Spartans Land Fifth Commit in Four Days

The strong get stronger…

In an interesting turn of events, the Michigan State Spartans continue to bolster their roster after they landed Gavin Cupp, a three star offensive lineman out of Ohio. According to College Spun, Cupp was reportedly considering offers from Missouri Pitt, West Virginia, Virginia, and Big Ten opponents Minnesota and Illinois.

Cupp is the fifth recruit to commit to MSU as he joins safeties Austin Andrews and Demetric Vance, ATH Jonah Morris, and fellow lineman Thiyo Lukusa, according to Scout.com.

Cupp and Lukusa will add some lineman help on the outsides and interior respectively for top NFL prospect for 2016 Connor Cook, as the Spartans look to repeat their trend of being in the top fifty of sacks allowed. The Spartans also stood at fifth in the Big Ten for sacks allowed.

Is this just a small spike in Michigan State’s recruiting or will the Spartans continue to stack up on their already top ten recruiting class? I guess we and the rest of the Big Ten will just have to wait and see.
