Remember when the Virginia Tech Hokies defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes last season? Remember when the Buckeyes didn’t have a third-string quarterback leading their team? No? Well neither do I.
Many college football fanatics would have never expected Ohio State to do much in college football last season especially after starting quarterback and preseason Heisman favorite Braxton Miller went down with a season-ending shoulder injury before the season even started. Those suspicions got even stronger for fanatics like myself after they fell to the Hokies by two touchdowns in the second game of the season.
Now, the Buckeyes are defending National Champions after an improbable thirteen-game win streak that saw Cardale “12 Gauge” Jones take over for backup quarterback J.T. Barrett and create a hole at the quarterback spot so large, you could drive a Volvo through it. They will now get their shot at revenge when they open the season against the Hokies under the Horseshoe’s lights.
According to College Spun, the Buckeyes host the Hokies in the 2015 season opener with a start time of 8 P.M. This is the second straight season the Buckeyes and Hokies will play under the lights for Ohio State’s home opener.
We know that Ohio State is on the nation’s longest winning streak. We know they are defending National Champs. And we know that they will be looking for revenge. Only thing we need to know now is, who the heck will be their quarterback?
