Mike Riley talks with team to find out why the chose Nebraska

Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach Mike Riley is taking a unique approach to figure out how he can lure more top players to Lincoln.

According to a report, Riley spent last week conducting one-on-one interviews with his current Nebraska players to determine why they ultimately decided to commit to the Cornhuskers.

From FootballScoop.com:

Mike Riley recently sat down for a one-on-one meeting with every single one of the players on Nebraska’s roster for about 15 minutes a piece – all 120 of them. When it was all said and done, it took about a week and provided some really valuable insight to the man that Nebraska tabbed to lead ther program.

Those one-on-one meetings consisted of conversation ranging from everything from the customary ‘How are things going?’ questions, to some deeper questions aimed at ultimately helping Riley recruit future prospects to Lincoln. Questions like how they decided to commit to Nebraska? And why they chose the Huskers over other programs?

With a competitive landscape in the Big Ten, Nebraska will need to continue landing top recruits.

If Riley learned any valuable information during his meetings with his players, we could see a roster that will continue to improve over the next few years as top recruiting classes begin to come in.
