Former Seton Hall Pirates point guard Sterling Gibbs has denied committing to UConn, despite multiple reports to the contrary.
Scout.com’s Evan Daniels initially reported via Twitter that the young man from Scotch Plains, New Jersey would head to Storrs to play for Kevin Ollie, according to a “source.”

However, Gibbs tweeted back at Daniels that such was not the case and that he had not committed anywhere yet.

Then came a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, who mentioned a school that Gibbs was set to visit.
Seton Hall transfer Sterling Gibbs told @CBSSports he will visit NC State this week. Immediately eligible.

No matter where he ends up, Gibbs will be a huge get for whichever program he picks. He will be eligible to play immediately and led the Pirates with 16.3 points and 3.8 assists per game last year. Gibbs also shot 43 percent from the field and 44 percent from long range as Seton Hall went 16-15 (6-12 Big East) and missed out on the NCAA Tournament for the ninth consecutive year.
Campus Sports will update Gibbs’ decision as more details are made available.
