It is starting to look like Luke Del Rio’s road to Florida is finally underway.
CollegeFootballTalk reported Saturday that a source with knowledge of the situation has the quarterback making the transfer sometime this summer. Word of Del Rio transfering from OSU to UF first gained steam back in April.
Sure, it might not look great on paper that Del Rio is transfering to his third school in just as many years. However, QB competition in the Beavers’ spring practices that had him backing up true freshman Seth Collins and redshirt freshman Nick Mitchell probably spurred the need for a change of scenery, CFT suggests.
Del Rio, a former three-star recruit and son of NFL head coach Jack Del Rio, served as primary backup to Sean Mannion last season and completed 8-of-18 passes for 141 yards for OSU.
