News of recent transfer QB Everett Golson gave put the odds in Florida Sate’s favor. On Monday, Clemson was the slight betting favorite for the ACC crown at 5Dimes sports book and Casino, but the Everett transfer gave the Seminoles the new edge.
Although Jimbo Fisher has not guaranteed the starting QB position to Everett Golson, he has been given the green light to compete for that starting spot. Golson, having already played in 25 college football games as QB with Notre Dame as well as being apart of the 2012 BCS National Championship Game, it can only be presumed he’s going to be a tough competitor and replacement for Jameis Winston on this top ranked team.
Although Florida State still needs to replace key players such as their offensive linemen like Cam Erving or Bobby Hart, they re also going to have to replace all-time leading receiver Rashad Greene and all-time leading tight end Nick O’Leary amongst others selected in the NFL draft.
The battle between Florida State and Clemson for the conference has been a non-stop battle indeed. Between the two they have won the last six divisional titles as well as the las four ACC championships. In all, Florida State has won the ACC 15 times in 23 eligible year since joining the conference.
This year the Seminoles will travel to Memorial Stadium to meet on November 7th to see who’s the real leader.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
