In a decision that will shock absolutely nobody, the inaugural College Football Playoff has won the the 2015 Sports Business Journal Event of the Year Award. This really proves that everybody loves college football.
According to College Football Talk, the Playoff beat out events like the MLB and NBA All-Star Games, the US Open, and even Superbowl XLIX. That is what happens when you have four teams competing for one prize. The CFP winning this award has a lot to do with it being the first year for anything like this coupled with the fact that everyone was happy for the BCS to finally be dead.
Bill Hancock, a CFP representative, originally broke the news via Twitter.
Honored CFP was named 2015 sports event of the year. Other nominees were terrific. Real tribute to college ball.

With still about eight months before the second ever College Football Playoff, fans everywhere are excited and can’t wait to see what will develop. My only concern is whether or not next year’s event will live up to the first. You know what they say “Sequels are never better than the original.”
