Former Michigan Wolverines cornerback and graduate transfer Blake Countess is looking at heading to Auburn and will spend this weekend at the university. Wesley Sinor of Al.com reported the story.
“I have heard really good things about Auburn,” Countess told Rivals. “I’m really excited to get down there and see what it’s all about.”
Countess is also considering schools like Arizona, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. In three seasons in Ann Arbor, he registered 114 tackles and six interceptions, plus 169 interception return yards and a touchdown.
Auburn would certainly be a team with whom he could get immediate playing time under coach Gus Malzahn and new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. The Tigers are losing five members of their secondary, and Malzahn is concerned about the impending holes. With an experienced corner in Countess, Auburn could be in a position to make some noise in the SEC.
Campus Sports will update this story as more details become available.
