Indiana Hoosiers wide receiver Isaac Griffith was arrested in Bloomington and jailed Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Dwight Adams and Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reported the story.
Only 20 years old, Griffith was charged with OWI with endangerment, illegal consumption, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with with a BAC over .08. The university has said it is aware of the incident and is still gathering information before making a decision on Griffith’s status.
Griffith has yet to play in a game for the Hoosiers, but made headlines as a freshman after nearly drowning in the Gulf of Mexico last spring and ending up in a medically induced coma. He made a full recovery and returned home.
This story is very much in the early stages, but Campus Sports will update it as more information becomes available.
