Three-star defensive end and class of 2016 standout Chase Hatada, out of Rocklin, California, has committed to Boise State. Hatada made the announcement on his personal Twitter page.

Per his page on Scout.com, Hatada had also drawn interest from the Air Force Academy, Fresno State, Nevada and a myriad number of other programs. Instead, he will head to the Broncos and play for a team that has become something of a fan favorite in the past decade, with its in-your-face blue and orange uniforms and blue turf on its home field.
It also helps Hatada that Boise State has already built a winning program that has become notable on the national level despite playing outside of a Power 5 conference, what with the program being in the Mountain West currently and in the Western Athletic Conference before then. In 2014, the team’s first season under head coach Bryan Harsin (who took over after eight years of Chris Petersen, now at Washington), Boise State went 12-2 (7-1 MWC) and took home the Mountain West title before defeating Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl.
Needless to say, Broncos fans should be excited at the addition of Hatada.
Boise State opens the season against Petersen’s Washington Huskies at Bronco Stadium on September 4.
