Former Iowa linebacker and fullback John Kenny nearly signed with Rich Rodriguez and Arizona back in 2013, and now it appears that the two will get a chance to work together. Kenny is set to transfer to Arizona and will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out this season. At that point, he will be ready to play linebacker for the Wildcats. Kenny made the announcement on his personal Twitter page.
can't wait to get out to Tucson and keep chasing my dream #beardown

Kenny also made a short statement on his Instagram, thanking Iowa for the experience.
Excited to continue chasing my dreams at another great program! Thank you Iowa for blessing me with great friends and countless memories that will last a lifetime. A new journey starts shortly in Tucson.
In 2014, playing fullback, Kenny appeared in 11 games and caught four passes for 27 yards. He’ll now go from an Iowa squad that has struggled to keep up in the Big Ten in recent years for an Arizona program that has shown marked improvement in three years under Rodriguez, going 26-14 (15-12 Pac-12) over that stretch. Last season, the Wildcats went 10-4 (7-2 Pac-12) and won the Pac-12 South before losing to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.
With a former three-star recruit in Kenny set to join the team after the 2015 season, Arizona appears to be in a fine position to continue contending.
The Wildcats open the 2015 season against Texas-San Antonio in Tuscon on September 3.
