Tennessee to Reveal New Uniforms on July 1st

Have you ever looked at a team’s uniform’s and just said to yourself “That is a horrific color!”? That is the exact sentiment I get whenever I see those bright orange, traffic guard colored uniforms that the Tennessee Volunteers wear every Saturday.

Now, it seems as though the team will be revealing new uniforms in the coming weeks.

The picture that was posted by a Tennessee student early Tuesday morning doesn’t give fans much indication as to what the uniforms will look like. You can clearly see four shirtless mannequins that are wearing what seems to be gray and silver colored shorts. That may be some kind of sign that the uniforms will be trending away from the traditional “Volunteer Orange” and white.

Nike has produced some of the best college football uniforms in the past. Case in point, the Oregon Ducks, although some fans seem some of their uniform variations a little bit over the top. Nike usually produces uniforms that they could also make a profit off of as well.

I don’t know about you, but I believe that Nike is just as tired of seeing those old, blinding colors every Saturday, so maybe they go with a darker color, like gray, with orange numbers. July 1st is just around the corner and I am excited to see what the company reveals. And don’t worry you old=school Tennessee fans, you still have the awful checkerboard endzone.
