It is with a heavy heart that Campus Sports must announce the incredibly sad passing of former Georgetown Hoyas mascot Jack the Bulldog, Sr.
The lovable canine’s death was reported by the official Jack the Bulldog Twitter page, where fans can receive updates on their team’s mascot. Jack Sr. was 12 years old.

It’s never fun losing a pet, but Jack the Bulldog was on a completely different level compared to other mascots. As a Georgetown fan, one highlight of every Hoyas home basketball game is when the TV cameras eventually pan to the sidelines and show a closeup of Jack the Bulldog, clad in a Georgetown sweater and looking happy as a clam with his giant bulldog tongue hanging out.
Granted, there have been many Georgetown bulldog mascots, as the team’s mascot of choice is on the same level as Georgia’s Uga the Bulldog. There have been many more than just one.
But just the same, it’s sad to see a school legend pass on, and Jack Sr. will certainly be missed by Georgetown’s fans. Thus, I only have one thing left to say.
Rest in peace, Jack Sr., and thank you for the memories. You shall be missed!
