Karl-Anthony Towns to Appear on ESPN’s ‘Sport Science’

Karl-Anthony Towns is a man of many talents, and he’ll soon be able to add TV star to that list. In a post on his Instagram, Towns confirmed that he would appear on ESPN’s Sport Science.

“Childhood dream coming true.”

Yup, Towns said that. To give a better idea, when the show premiered back in 2007 on FS1, Towns was 11. Anyone else feel old?

But in all seriousness, it’s going to be interesting to see just what the likely No. 1 pick in this month’s NBA Draft is going to be doing on the program. Demonstrating the science behind a hook shot? Jumping up for a block or rebound? A tomahawk dunk from the free throw line? All of the above?

Either way, this episode is not one to be missed. The 19-year-old Towns is an incredibly big man at 6’11”, 250 pounds, and it’s going to be incredibly fascinating watching how the scientific aspects of his body work as he plays the game. No air date has been set yet, but keep your eyes peeled so you can mark your calendars accordingly!

In his sole season at Kentucky, Towns averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 56.6 percent from the field as the Wildcats went 38-1 and made the Final Four.
