Today in Austin, new University of Texas Head Basketball coach Shaka Smart and his staff take a big step forward in their quest of taking the UT Men’s hoop program back to heights they haven’t experienced in quite some time.
Coach Smart has high hopes of making a big splash as Top Ten 2016 class recruit SG Terrance Ferguson Prime Prep Academy in Dallas, TX is set to Visit the UT campus today.

Ferguson could potentially be Smarts first five-star recruit at UT.
Smart who is considered to be a great recruiter has already gotten a 4-star small forward in Tevin Mack to say goodbye to VCU (where Smart had originally recruited him) and come join him down in Austin at UT.
Ferguson who is regarded as an all-around player that can do most everything and then some on the court was influenced by his mother’s impression of Coach smart. In College recruiting it is widely known that if you get the mother, you more often than not will get the kid.
Ferguson still has more schools that he is interested in and will surely have a few more visits before making his final decision. But as of now it seems like Coach Smart and his staff are in a pretty good position to land one of the nations to prep athletes for 2016.
