Vegas’ Wonder Boys: Kris Bryant, Bryce Harper & Joey Gallo

Graduating high school with a 4.78 GPA from Bonanza H.S. in Vegas, Kris Bryant wreaked havoc for opposing pitchers in his senior season. He recorded a .489 BA, 22 HR and 51 RBI leading up to his 3 single-season All-American honors. Despite a hitless game vs the Padres on April 17, Kris Bryant wasted minimal time warming up to the majors. So far, he’s rightfully deserved the title from a FiveThirtyEight article depicting Bryant as “anointed savior” for the Cubs.

While playing catcher for SWAC’s College of Southern Nevada in the 2010 NJCAA World Series, Bryce Harper went 6-for-7 with 5 RBI and hit for the cycle (1B, 2B, 3B, HR) in one game, succeeded by a doubleheader-combined 7-for-12, 3 RBI, 2B, 3B, 4 HR.

Aside accusations from Wale tagging Bryce as an “actual cousin” and a split from longtime girlfriend, Kayla, Harper is continues to live the sweet life in D.C. – along with his UFC belt and pipes for forearms.

A by-product of football and baseball powerhouse, Bishop Gorman, Joey Gallo collected 4 state championships and added 67 career HR in high school.

Gallo opted out as a pitcher and, instead, settled for a dual role in 3B and OF for the upcoming 2012 draft. After concluding his 2 years in the minors for Texas AA League team, the Rough Riders, Gallo entered the lime light on June 2, 2015. For his first night in the majors, Gallo’s performed as followed: 3-for-4, 2B, HR.

And an ICYMI moment: Harper and Gallo were teammates in Little League. The sluggers, pictured below, were just 8 and 9 years old.
