In the NFL’s 79-year history of the draft, there has never once been a defensive back taken number one overall. As it stands right now, Florida State junior safety Jalen Ramsey could be the first, and should be in the talks.
According to The Orlando Sentinel, Ramsey has already been slated as a top fifteen pick for the 2016 Draft. There is really only two things that can happen at this point. His stock can either rise or fall.
Obvious, right?
Well, one person thinks he should be in talks for the number one pick overall. Senior NFL Draft Analyst Dane Brugler tweeted this out on Friday.
Junior FS Jalen Ramsey is special. DBs aren't usually in convo for the No. 1 overall pick, but Ramsey should be next year. FS/CB/LB in one.

Pretty bold statement, but Ramsey truly has what it takes to back up. He was fourth on the Seminoles’ roster for tackles with 79 last season and was a finalist for both the Jim Thorpe and Bronko Nagurski Awards.
Could we be seeing a defensive back go number one overall? Will someone be able to knock Connor Cook off the proverbial throne as the number player in the draft? Should a team take a chance on Ramsey with the number one pick? Let us know in the comments!
