USA Football announces IFAF World Championship roster

USA Football has announced its forty-five man roster for the 2015 International Federation of American Football World Championships.

You would think that this roster would be loaded with college football superstars, but sadly we don’t get to see Nick Chubb running all over the field in red, white, and blue. Nor do we get to see Tyler Oakman compete for a gold medal.

According to USA Football, the roster was selected out of college football players aged twenty and older. The team will compete in its fifth world championship and it will be held in Canton, Ohio from July 9-18.

The US national team won the championship in 2011 when the event was held in Austria.

The event is held every four years, like the World Cup, and the US took home the gold in 2011 after defeating Canada 50-7 in the gold medal game.

This year’s team is coached by former Boise State and Colorado coach Dan Hawkins. Some of the more notable players on the roster are Dylan Favre, nephew to NFL great Brett Favre, and Kevin Cummings, wide receiver from Oregon State.
