Washington adds JUCO quarterback Tony Rodriguez

The Washington Huskies have added some depth under center. On Tuesday, the Huskies officially announecd that junior college quarterback Tony Rodriguez will be joining the program.

“We’re really happy that we were able to find Tony,” head coach Chris Petersen said in a statement, via College Football Talk. “He’ll add an immediate boost to the competition at the quarterback position this fall.”

The Washington quarterback job is up for grabs, so Rodriguez will have an opportuntiy to compete.

Rodriguez, who enters 2015 as a junior, will be in competition with junior Jeff Lindquist and freshmen K.J. Carta-Samuels and Jake Browning.

Last season at City College of San Francisco, Rodriguez threw for 2,382 yards, 18 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Rodriguez led his team to an 11-2 record.
