To play college football for an FBS university, you have to be a very talented football player. To play cornerback at Florida State, you have to be an even better football player.
That is exactly what Levonta Taylor is, as the top-rated cornerback in the class of 2016.
On Tuesday, Taylor was compared to another great cornerback, Vernon Hargreaves. Unfortunately, Hargreaves plays for the hated Florida Gators. After hearing of the comparison, Taylor had a classic response to the comment and also helped contribute to the heated rivalry between the Seminoles and Gators.
Taylor had fun with the comment and even posted a winking emoji to make light of the situation. The truth is, that is what you want from a young kid coming in to play for a powerhouse program like Florida State. You have to think you are the best to even be considered the best.
Taylor won’t even get his opportunity to face the Gators until November 2016, but he is already entering the trash-talking discussion.
If this kid can live up to the hype, the next highly-touted cornerback recruit might just get compared to Levonta Taylor instead of someone else.
