The cost of a real life ‘Jurassic Park’

With the excitement of the fourth installment in Universal and Steven Spielberg’s epic “Jurassic Park” franchise releasing this weekend, it is always fun to look at what a real life dinosaur-themed amusement park would actually cost to build.

Apparently, the release of “Jurassic World” has made some people go absolutely crazy.

SPOILER ALERT: There may be something in this article that will ruin the newest movie for you, so don’t read on if you haven’t seen “Jurassic World” yet.

In 1993, it was just a pipe dream in a fantasy world to believe that a theme park with regenerated dinosaurs could actually exist. In today’s world and with today’s technology, it is an actual possibility. Complex shared a video from Fandango’s YouTube page explaining exactly what it would cost to build.

Wow. Just simply wow. Twenty-three billion dollars is a lot of money, but when you think about it, Disney has spent that much on three separate parks in Florida, California, and Japan. Why not look into the dinosaur themed park?

Well, if you are huge fan of the “Jurassic Park” franchise like myself, you know exactly why this is a bad idea. Dinosaurs are huge creatures that roamed the Earth sixty-five million years ago. They ate each other. What makes you think they wouldn’t eat humans just like in the movies?

Nonetheless, I love a challenge and I certainly would visit a real-life Jurassic Park. But for the love of god, please whoever decides to build this, don’t make a tyrannosaurus rex-velociraptor hybrid dinosaur. That would be a BAD idea. Just ask Chris Pratt.
