Four-star center Joey Brunk, out of the Park Tudor School in Indianapolis, has committed to Butler and spurned a myriad number of offers from schools like Indiana, Michigan State and Purdue.
Brunk made the announcement on his personal Twitter page.
After much consideration, I'm grateful to say I've committed to Butler University. Overjoyed to be a part of the bulldog family. #GoDawgs

Standing 6-foot-10, 215 pounds, Brunk is a wide body who plays the low post well. That type of player is important in Butler’s system and, though Brunk won’t suit up for the scrappy Bulldogs until the 2016-17 season, the fact that he chose them over powerhouse programs like those of the Hoosiers and Spartans shows just how much influence Butler is gaining in recruiting circles.
It’s a huge get for them, and one that should have Indiana, Michigan State and other bigger programs worried about what the future may hold.
Butler went 23-11 (12-6 Big East) in its first season under head coach Chris Holtmann and made the NCAA Tournament as a No. 6 seed. The team managed to defeat No. 11 Texas in its first tourney game, but suffered a tough overtime loss to No. 3 Notre Dame in the Round of 32.
