Three-star safety Devin Gil decommitted from the University of Miami this past week while visiting one of Michigan’s many satellite camps. New coach Jim Harbaugh has made headlines throughout his numerous camps this summer and the trend continues.
Gil confirmed with 247Sports his change in status with the Hurricanes and he is fully expected to end up a Wolverine.
Another safety, unranked Josh Metellus who was committed to Georgia Southern, also decommitted during one of the Michigan camps. Metellus and Gil are high school teammates, though they decommitted from their respective schools during separate camps.
The ultimate goal from the Wolverines and coach Harbaugh may be to land these two, and in turn land their four-star teammate, Devin Bush Jr.
Bush is currently favoring the Florida State Seminoles, but the persuasion from two teammates may be enough to change his mind. Bush has received 44 scholarship offers and has narrowed the list down to Michigan, Florida State, Georgia and UCLA (after declining offers from Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State and Texas).
