Duke basketball adds transfer Lexie Brown from Maryland

Monday marked what may be a defining moment in the upcoming season as Lexie Brown,  a transfer from Maryland, was officially added to the Blue Devils’ roster.

During her time as a Terrapin, Brown collected a very impressive range of awards, all the while leading the team to back-to-back Final Fours. Some of her awards including:

  • Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player
  • All-Big Ten First Team
  • All-Big Ten Defensive Team
  • WBCA All-Region Team
  • AP Third Team All-American
  • Naismith 50 Watch List, Semifinalist
  • Wooden Award Preseason Top 30
  • ESPN’s need to Know list
  • Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll
  • Academic All-Big Ten
  • Preseason All-Big Ten Team
  • ACC All-Freshmen Team
  • NCAA Tournament All-Region Team
  • Lieberman Award Watch List
  • ACC All-Academic Team

Brown announced that she would be transferring from the school back in March, stating that she wanted to be closer to home.

While she is now closer to home, the guard will have to sit out her junior season due to NCAA transfer rules, but she will still have two years of eligibility remaining.
