Shane Morris: Michigan QB job is mine to lose

The Michigan Wolverines starting quarterback job is between returning starting Shane Morris and Iowa transfer quarterback Jake Rudock. However, don’t tell Morris that Rudock is in the mix.

As far as Morris is concerned, the job is his to lose and he is not going to let anyone take it from him.

“I think I can win the starting job because I have the mentality to do so,” Morris said on Saturday, via MLive.com. “Right now it’s my job to lose and I’m just going to keep working hard and fight off any competitors that are trying to take it away from me.”

Morris later added, “He came here to take my job and I’m just not going to let it happen.”

It’s great to see the confidence from Morris and that is something that could play in his favor as the competition heats up — especially with a coach who carries himself with as much confidence as Jim Harbaugh.

Whether his prediction turns out to be true, however, remains to be seen.
