The Joe Paterno legacy is going to live on in Pennsylvania, thanks to a recent business relationship between brewing industry veteran Mark Dudash and Paterno’s son, Jay.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune, there will be a “premium American lager” brewed at the Latrobe City Brewing Co., so you can be sure to see plenty of that going around Penn State Nittany Lions tailgate parties.
The Paterno family has strong ties to Latrobe, with Joe’s wife, Sue Paterno, hailing from Latrobe. The couple was also married in the town South of Pittsburgh.
For Jay Paterno, this is just a way to give back.
“That this is an American company in an increasingly foreign-dominated industry, that it brews in Pennsylvania, that it provides union jobs — all of those things just resonated with my mom and all of us,” Paterno added.
So go on, Happy Valley. Start enjoying some JoePa brew this fall.
