Jordan Spieth makes volunteer’s day with selfie

Sometimes, to meet one of your idols, you have to work for it.

No, literally I mean work for it. One Jordan Spieth fan found that out this past weekend at the US Open in Washington.

According to USA Today’s For The Win, Spieth was nice enough to make one volunteer’s day by taking a picture with him and the US Open trophy. The volunteer, known as marlfox1642 on Reddit, was one of the sign boys – someone who follows the group around with a sign showing the players’ scores – at the tournament and was lucky enough to get a picture with Spieth.

“He was a really nice dude,” the volunteer said of Spieth. “A class act”

Not only is the twenty-one-year-old a class act, he is also the hottest golfer in the world right now. Back in April, Spieth won the Masters just one year after falling short in the final three.

This weekend, he became the first person to win the Masters and US Open in the same year since Tiger Woods in 2002. He is the sixth person to do so along with Woods, Craig Wood, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus.

That is some pretty big company to have your name mentioned with. Spieth is just going to get better as he has the chance to become the first person to win three Majors in one year since Hogan in 1953.

The Open Championship begins on July 16 and I am excited to see what the future holds for this young man.
