Photo: Ohio State linemen have ‘Slob Night Out’

Offensive linemen usually never get the love that they deserve. Without them, there would be not Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees throwing for 5,000 yards a season. Without them, there wouldn’t be an Adrian Peterson or Marshawn Lynch running over guys to get into the endzone. Without them, there would be no football.

As a former offensive lineman myself, I heard all kinds of different nicknames. “Fat boy”, “Hog”, “Biggun.”

I have never been called a “Slob”, but that is exactly what the defending national champions call their boys up front.

According to College Spun, the Ohio State Buckeyes call their offensive linemen the “Slobs.” Not an appealing name, but O-line usually isn’t an appealing position for most. But it’s fun as hell, I will tell you that. The “Slobs” enjoyed a night of bowling and dinner last night.

No matter what the offensive linemen are called in Columbus, they proved that they are a group to be reckoned with last season. I’m sure Ezekiel Elliot is happy to have them blocking for him.
