Report: Braxton Miller to announce plans for future next week

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Braxton Miller will announce his plans for his future next week. Tim May of the Columbus Post-Dispatch and Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports reported the development.

This news comes on the heels of Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer telling May that both Miller and fellow quarterback J.T. Barrett were nearing full health in their work to come back from injuries. Miller missed all of last season with a shoulder injury, while Barrett assumed starting duties before breaking his ankle late in the season.

Third-stringer Cardale Jones then took over and went on to help Ohio State win a national championship.

Just what Miller’s “plans” are remain to be seen.

Miller could just be announcing that his shoulder is fully healed and that he will be competing for the starting quarterback’s job alongside Barrett and Jones in the months leading up to the 2015 season, or he could say that he is transferring since he never once actually said that he planned on being at Ohio State this year.

If he were to transfer to a different program, he would be eligible to play immediately.

Of course, Campus Sports will update this story once Miller does make his announcement.
